fimych | I got this cover recently. As I understand it was flown on a rocket on 5th astrophilately event. Does anybody have any details about those rocket activities and Hoyerswerda astrophilately meetings? |
Antoni RIGO | Ralf Schulz, from Hoyerswerda (Germany) could supply you more details about these flown rocket mail covers. He usually flew 100 covers per rocket, and for this event, you could get your own flown cover directly addressed to your home. Mine I bought for 5 DM in 2000 year. Maybe you can contact Ralf to his email address r.schulz_@web.de.

JBoe | This sounds interesting, let us know how it goes. I wouldn't mind getting a cover if he's still making them. I would be interested in the process of making covers as well. I have several ideas and plans for making rockets that I plan to carry artifacts. |
Russian | I saw a flown ASTP envelope - 40th Anniversary. It flew in 2015 aboard the ISS and all the crew signed it. And the crew put ISS and Russian segment seals on it. I was told it was done in the frame of Roscosmos-Russian Post office agreement of cooperation. Maybe somebody knows more? |
cosmos-walter | Russian Post issued a special ISS postmark for the 40th anniversary of ASTP. As far as I know, it was only used on board ISS. Moreover, letters with content with this postmark exist.
|
Russian | I saw a different envelope, longer one but with the same seals and signatures on it. These envelopes were into a special transportation bag with Russian Post Office written on it by hand. I was told the crew bring with them envelopes dedicated to different historic events. They take them with their personal luggage. You are lucky to get these envelopes!!!! |
hoorenz | 50 envelopes for the Apollo-Soyuz 40th Anniversary were sent to the ISS with a Progress in 2015. They came back to Earth with Padalka, Mogensen and Aimbetov (Soyuz TMA-16M landing) in September 2015. Here is the postal bag the envelopes were flown in (it reads: Posta Rossii - Russian Post). |
Russian | Yes! I saw this envelope! But the stamp was different — Hero of the Soviet Union star. |
cosmos-walter | I am friend with cosmonauts. Thus I am very happy to receive quite a few very good space covers. Let me know, if you are looking for something special. The covers shown by Erik (hoorenz) are issued by Roscosmos. They are very tough - although RKK Energia nowadays does not make more covers than Roscosmos. Erik, do you know where the bag for these envelopes is now? |
fimych | Another two covers I got recently - one was flown with Soyuz TMA-16M (note the ISS postmarks - date of undocking) another is the same cover postmarked by BaikonurSvyazInform (BSI). These are privately designed covers I got from Star City.
|
Russian | Fimych, your flown envelope has a seal of the Russian segment with the date of undocking for the TMA-16M. Envelopes came back to Earth with it's crew. Good confirmation! |
hoorenz | quote: Originally posted by cosmos-walter: Erik, do you know where the bag for these envelopes is now?
It is at Roscosmos, I was told. |
Russian | I know that all the flown bags with envelopes starting from mid 2014 are stored in Roscosmos. From time to time they take different envelopes to offer to their stuff members or key elements in the space industry for their anniversaries. They have special frames for the envelopes and crew photos together. All the bags before mid 2014 are not there... I saw also special covers for Energia corporation 70th Anniversary (August 2016). Also flown. |
fimych | you mean this one? |
fimych | Just a brief update on the original subject — Ralf advised that he did send 100 such covers on the relevant event. The cachet shows the particular rocket used to launch the covers. No further details were given, still waiting to his reply. |
Russian | Strange thing! No special Russian Post Office postmark for Energia 70th anniversary on the envelope by Energia. See the photo Erik (hoorenz) put in this topic. Special postmark is there. |
